This can be a complicated question to answer. Many users draw the conclusion that the “network” is a fault when there is any problem in a widely distributed infrastructure like the grid. Oftentimes the culprit is more local (application software, hardware, firmware, etc). OSG is happy to help users evaluate their infrastructure and determine if the network is at least part of the problem. To better understand the role the network may be playing in any problem, we recommend the installation and suitable configuration of the perfSONAR toolkit.
