Dr. Emelie Harstad started working with OSG User Support this summer, 2014. She joined the Holland Computing Center at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln last summer, 2013, as an applications engineer, helping users from physics to medical sciences to deploy high-throughput codes.
Before that, she received her Ph.D. in physics from the University of Oregon on work that was part of the LIGO (Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory) collaboration.
Her role with OSG User Support is to facilitate workflow implementation by new and existing users. She participates in initiatives that improve accessibility and performance of OSG resources from the user perspective, and helps to identify and educate potential new users about how the OSG can help advance their research.
