Grid User Management System

GUMS is a service that maps users' grid certificates to site-specific identities. These identities define the extent of access to site resources. GUMS receives a grid certificate subject from the site's gatekeeper(s) and passes back the site identity. GUMS communicates with external virtual organization services to determine if a user is a member of a virtual organization. It also integrates with a site's local information services, i.e., LDAP.
